 Wynn Twins School of Dance

was established in 1978.  We offer Tap, Jazz, and Ballet, beginner classes through advanced in a Christian environment.       Our facility is approximately 6000 sq. feet which includes 2 studios with raised wood floors. We are open everyday except   Friday and Sunday, classes are offered year round. Presented in late Spring, the Wynn Twins recital has been a popular     engagement at the Music Hall of Kansas City for nearly 30 years, see our performance page for video clips from past years.

             Jann began her professional career at eight years old as a dancer in various performances at Starlight Theatre in Kansas City,

 Missouri. She followed her passion for performance and became a member of the first team of Chiefettes for the Kansas City

 Chiefs. To further her experience, Jann trained with Shirley Marley and was mentored by the incomparable Gus Giordano.

 Thirty One years ago Jann debuted Wynn Twins School of Dance, her Christian rooted dance studio located in Raytown,

 Missouri. Her exceptional dance team has achieved the honor of National Champions since 1983 from Dance America.

 Former Wynn Twins students have successfully pursued careers in professional dance and theatre performing on Broadway,

 television and film. Jann is pleased to instruct and nurture the community youth through dance and performance and is

 presently hosting a second generation of Wynn Twins dancers.

Senior Instructor and Choreographer

 

             Pamela has been a teacher at Wynn Twins for over 20 years. She began dancing as a child, and has had the good fortune

 to make dance her career and her life. Pamela received her early training at various studios throughout Missouri. She danced

 her  way through high school musicals, talent shows and various pageants, culminating with the Miss America’s Miss Missouri

 Pageant in 1974. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in dance from UMKC in 1978, where she trained under

 Tatiana Dokoudovska, Winifred Widener, Shirley Weaver, Dennis Landsman and Claudia Edwards. Pamela danced in the Moulin

 Rouge Theatre at Worlds of Fun for two seasons, Starlight Theatre’s productions of “Blackstone Magic Snow” & “Desert Song”,

 and was also a Kansas City Chiefette. In 1986 she moved to Orlando, Florida with her family. She taught dance at a local studio

 until 1988 when she was cast in the Diamond Horseshoe Revue at Walt Disney World as a dancer and singer, a role that she

 filled for the subsequent four years. She also danced at Rosie O’Grady’s at Church Street Station and in various convention shows.

 In 1992 Pamela returned to Kansas City and Wynn Twins, where she has had the privilege of teaching and mentoring thousands of

 aspiring young dancers in the ensuing 16 years.

             Jami Hammerbacher began her dance career at the age of eight at Wynn Twins.  During her time dancing for the studio she

 competed in various competitions and won many national titles, including the overall high senior solo jazz championship her

 senior year.  She participated in multiple Dancer of the Year contests for Dance Olympus and was given the honor as Wynn Twins’

 Student of the Year her sophomore year.  In 2002, Jami was a member of the company that competed for Wynn Twins at the Jazz

 Dance World Congress.  She was a class assistant at the studio during her high school years, and was a member of the Archbishop

 O’Hara High School dance team. In college at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Jami earned degrees in Communication and

 Geography.  She was the Dance Director for Alpha Phi Sorority Inc. and performed at numerous Greek Life events.  While at Mizzou, she danced on scholarship at the Columbia Performing Arts Centre and coached the nationally ranked Rock Bridge High School dance team. After graduation, Jami moved to London to work for the Public Relations agency, Ketchum.  Upon her return to the states in 2006 she joined the Wynn Twins staff full time.  She teaches ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, pointe, and works with the competitive team. She also does choreography for local high schools and a variety of organizations. In her free time Jami enjoys spending time with her dogs Sadee and Kali, and working at the Kansas City Zoo.

Sandi Jacobs began her dance career at the age of six at Wynn Twins and was a member of the dance team through high school. In college at Baker University, Sandi earned degrees in Psychology and Sociology. While at Baker, she received scholarships as a member of the cheerleading squad and was head captain her final year. From 1993-1995, she taught tap, jazz and ballet for Baldwin City recreation for Beginners through advanced, and adults. Also for Baldwin City Recreation, she choreographed routines for the production of “Wizard of Oz”. She was a member of the Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleading squad from 1995-1997 while pursuing her Masters of Liberal Arts through Baker University. She joined Wynn Twins as an instructor in 2003. She was the head cheerleading coach for Van Horn High School from 2008-2009. Sandi’s daughter is one of many who is a member of the Wynn Twins Dance Team as a “second generation dancer”.

Mrs. Wilson's  formal training began in Leawood, Kansas at DanceWorks Conservatory, under the direction of Sharon Romine, Nicole Romine, and Loren Whittaker. Alexandra received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet and Modern from the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where she was a scholarship student all four years. 

Prior to becoming a company member for Storling Dance Theater, Alexandra was a guest Artist for Second Wind Dance Company in Virginia, performing works by Beverly Duane, and Jelone Vierra of Dance Brazil. Mrs. Wilson has performed works by George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, Paula Weber, DeeAnna Hiett, Jennifer Medina, Rodni Williams, and Loren Whittaker. Mrs. Wilson has toured Europe twice with Young Tanzommer, and has had her choreography performed there as well. Alexandra is a teacher at Wynn Twins Studio,   the Director of Dance for movinNgroovin in Overland Park, Kansas and has taught many camps and workshops for studios all over Kansas City, including Storling Dance Camp, and Glenda Brown Choreography Project. Alexandra also teaches dance for summer school with the Blue Springs District.

Alexandra has been a company member of Storling Dance Theater since 2006. Some memorable roles with Storling Dance Theater include: Roxy, in Prodigal Daughter, one of the Wives, in Suspended Grace, and Kamikaze Mama.

Alexandra is the wife of Jereme Wilson, and new mother to her beautiful daughter, Alaina. Many thanks to her family for their love and support. She is extremely thankful to God for the opportunity to share her God given talents and passion for dance to others on a daily basis. It is truly a blessing.
